Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono says the Zimbabwean government is not yet ready to welcome citizens returning from South Africa.

This comes after Zimbabwe’s Foreign Affairs minister Fredrick Shava met his South African counterpart Naledi Pandor in Pretoria.

In an Interview with Bongiwe Zwane on SABC News, Chin’ono said the gorvenment is not ready to welcome Zimbabweans returning from SA since the economy is dead and there is no political stability.

He said there is bad governance and the failed rule of law which are increasing the rate at which people want to move out of Zimbabwe.

He said those returning will be coming back to a situation more dire adding that the country has got the highest levels of inflation.

Hopewell said he is saddened about the missed opportunity yesterday to address the issue of Political and Electoral reforms in Zimbabwe.

Hopewell slammed Pandor for failling to talk to Shava about electoral reforms as Zimbabwe prepares for 2023 polls.
