Tinder swindler, Amon Amoleno Namara (43), who was arrested two weeks ago, is spending another weekend in jail after he failed to pay R500 000 bail.

Namara swindled R3 Million from one of his victims, an employee at the Industrial Development Corporation, in May 2021.

His lawyer, Eric Bryer, told the City Press newspaper that Namara earns only R35 000 a month as a salesman at MSI wheels and tyres and can not afford the bail amount.

The woman lost money to Namara, whom she met on Tinder, after he made a business proposal to her that needed funding for R3 million.

Since she did not have the money, the woman borrowed R3 Million from her two friends which they deposited into his accounts and some which was paid as cash.

Namara cut off all communication with the woman after he received the money.
