Dewa Mavhinga, the Southern Africa Director at Human Rights Watch has died of COVID-19 in South Africa.
Mavhinga helped thousands of opposition activists in Zimbabwe who were seeking refuge from the Mugabe government.
Mavinga is the brother of activist, Shepherd Yuda, who fled to the UK after exposing deplorable conditions in Zimbabwe ‘s prisons.
