Prominent singers, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have broke up after two years of dating.

After two-plus years of dating, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes announced Wednesday (Nov. 17) that they’ve broken up but will “continue to be best friends.”

“Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever,” the pair wrote in a joint statement shared to their respective Instagram Stories.

“We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward. Camila and Shawn.”

The singer, 24, started dating Mendes, 23, in July 2019 following her split from Matthew Hussey.

The first public confirmation of their romantic relationship came after the song’s release, in July 2019, when they were spotted walking and holding hands in West Hollywood.

In November 2015, they released “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” which hit the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Their next duet, 2019’s “Señorita,” would go all the way to No. 1 on the Hot 100.

It won an American Music Award for collaboration of the year and received a Grammy nomination for best pop duo/group performance.
