A Redcliff based businessman, Madro Matiza, founder at Join Africa Business Network (JABN), has attracted attention with his innovate supermarket restoration project.

Matiza says he is restoring a space where the biggest supermarket used to operate and will soon open up the refrigeration and bakery sections.

He has successfully restored industrial fridges that would normally cost over $50 000.

Matiza says he bought the broken down fridges for less than $1000 at various auctions and worked with students from Kwekwe Polytechnic College to restore the units.

Matiza, who is popularly known as Son Madro, appealed to the Zimbabwe government to support innovative projects like his across the country.

He said the employment creation mindset needs to start at the local level before it can go national.
