Movement for Democratic Change Alliance Deputy President Professor Welshman Ncube says the Alliance is hopeful that South African envoys will be able to hold much needed dialogue with the opposition and other key stakeholders to end Zimbabwe’s crisis.

Cyril Ramaphosa’s special envoys — former South African vice president Baleka Mbete and ex-ministers Sydney Mufamadi and Ngoako Ramatlhodi are expected to return to engage with remaining stakeholders.

In an Interview with SABC, Welshman said the Alliance is hopeful and optimistic that the envoy will come back since there is still a humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe, which will result in positive engagements.

He said the envoys met Emmerson Mnangagwa who apparently was not keen that they meet anybody else thus they returned without out conversing with all stakeholders.

Welshman said the Alliance was advised by the South African ambassador that the envoy intends to come back and make necessary engagement with remaining stakeholders.

Moreover, Ncube said SADC and the African Union chaired by Cyril Ramaphosa have an obligation to intervene in the humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe.

Welshman said the only solution is to dialogue as Zimbabweans and find common ground that will take the country forward.
