The Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference (ZCBC) secretary-general, Fradereck Chiromba says dialogue is the only way forward for Zimbabwe.

In response to Justice Minister, Ziyambi Ziyambi, Bishop Chiromba said politics is not just for politicians, but for everyone.

Bishop Chiromba said Zimbabwe needs an inclusive dialogue which includes all political parties, civil society, business and have a platform where people air their grievances.

Bishop Chiromba said there is nothing wrong with the pastoral letter it was addressing the government on the plight of the people, the humanitarian crisis, dilapidated economic and health sector.

He said the church expects a response from the head of state, addressing issues of nation-building. It is time to speak on the long outstanding issues troubling Zimbabwe.

He said the pastoral letter is not there to incite public violence, the title ‘the march is not ended’ does not refer to the the continuation of the 31 July anti corruption march instead It refers to the aspirations of life and transformations that have to be implemented in life.

Bishop Chiromba said there are false accusations that the motive of the letter was driven by detractors aimed at destroying the country instead it was addressing issues already in the public domain.

“I don’t know what pastoral letter the minister was referring to when she alleged ‘fanning tribalism and inciting a civil war’, because our letter was speaking to nation-building.”
