We look at the facts around corruption allegations against Tafadzwa Musarara and we ask the question, is Tafadzwa Musarara Really Corrupt?

Lawsuit

Tafadzwa Musarara, Zimbabwe Grain Millers Association President, has taken Godfrey Tsenengamu and Lewis Matutu to court where he is suing them for $10 Million.

This follows the press statement by the two ZANU-PF Youth leaders calling him and four others corrupt.

This also follows recent media appearances where ED Mnangagwa was seen blessing Tafadzwa Musarara.

Now we look at the facts around corruption allegations against Tafadzwa Musarara and we ask the question, is Tafadzwa Musarara Really Corrupt?

Black Market

Musarara is being accused of diverting subsidized maize meal to the black market.

However, is the problem in Zimbabwe not the$3 Billion or more that is spent on Command Agriculture, while at the end of the season the country has no maize?

Is the issue of pricing distortions not also contributing to shortages and the emergence of a black market?

RBZ Money

The Zimbabwe Grain Millers Association is also in trouble with Parliament where they have been refusing to appear before the parliamentary committe to answer questions on what happened to the US27 Million that they were given by the RBZ.

Is it not possible that some of this money found its way to the hand f politicians and people like Tafadzwa Musarara are afraid of lying under oath?

Extortion

Recent media reports have circulated that Godfrey Tsenengamu and Lewis Matutu exposed the corruption accused because they failed to get certain donations and they are fighting personal battles. For example:

Lewis Matutu is said to have requested a Lancruiser from Kuda Tagwirei, while Togarepi is said to have been denied a deal for tractors.

In Conclusion:

Tafadzwa Musarara is probably the least corrupt among the Beneficiaries of Command Agriculture.

The problem in Zimbabwe is command agriculture which is failing to assure adequate maize harvests in spite of millions being poured into the program.
