A report prepared by the Rand Corporation on Zimbabwe predicting a loss by Nelson Chamisa in 2023 is coming true.
Written by various academics and political scientists including Alexander Noyse, the reports sites the following reasons:
- E.D. Mnangagwa has not introduced genuine reforms
- The MDC lacks grassroots structures
- The MDC lacks the capacity to organise a sustained mass action
- The opposition in Zimbabwe is divided.
Based on current events in Zimbabwe, Chamisa is unlikely to win in 2023 as the opposition has been further divided by the Supreme court judgement and Chamisa’s failure to handle the situation.
