Winky D was born on the 1st of February 1983. He was brought up in Kambuzuma.
Winky started his career in 2004. He has shared the stage with a number of big artists from Jamaica.
His real name is Wallace. He attended his primary at Rukodzo primary and secondary school at Kambuzuma 3 high. His love for music started when he was only 8 years old.
Ever since he started his music career he has released 10 albums. He has travelled all over the world with his career.
Winky D is an icon for Zimbabwe and African raggae music. He is also known as Gaffa, Gombwe, king of dancehall and dancehall igwe. He used to be signed to vigilance music until he decided to go solo.
Winky D is married and is blessed with two girls. The first born is called Taenda. He says his favourite artist locally is Soul Jah Love and internationally he is the biggest fan of late Michael Jackson.
He is one of the biggest artists in Zimbabwe.
