PERSONAL LIFE
Trevor Dongo was born and raised in the South suburb , Highfield were legendary artists such as the late Tuku and Tanga WekwaSando are originally from.
EARLY CAREER
His former school Kwayedza High in Highfield is mostly known for promoting music talent and that is were he started his music journey.
Artist such as Extra Large and King Shady are some of the great Urban Grooves who are products from that school.
Although he saw it as a hobby , it later grew to be a passion and became his fulltime career.
After completion of his Art course, Dongo went on to release his first album ‘Ndozviita Sei’. The album was a success story and from there he never looked back.This earned him a nomination for ZIMA awards in 2005.
ETERNITY PRODUCTIONS
After working with Extra Large on Small House album in 2006 , Trrvor got a massive record deal from top Zimbabwean record producer MacDonald Chidavaenzi aka Mac Dee.
AfroUnik Boy Band
In 2007 , he teamed up with top artist Nox Guni and Tawanda Mugodhi to form an RnB group.
Kana Musipo their gospel song produced by Mac Dee became a hit and charted top on local radio stations and famous V-Shows in schools back in the day.
Solo Career
Trevor went on to release a solo project, dropping a single tittled “Mukoma” in 2008.
His second album ‘Ruvarashe’ was released in 2010 with chart topping hits like “Nerunako, Tivanyadzise and Ndapengeswa.
In 2012 he released his 3rd Album titled “First Verse” with hits like “Ndashamisika, No limits and Musikana Wangu. Ndashamisika went on to become the 2012 Song of the Year on all local stations.
His 2014 single Handisi Kumira was nominated at the ZIMA AWARDS in the Best Single Category and the Best Video of The Year Category.
Beauty Pageants and Fashion Shows
In the past 6years Trevor Dongo has performed live for models on the runaway and this include Miss Carnival Zimbabwe and Miss Tourism Zimbabwe
International Tours
The King Of RnB made his debut international tour in 2012 when he embarked on a United Kingdom tour together with gurus such as Maskiri and Leonard Mapfumo.
In May 2014, he was part of the Zimbabwean artists that descended in the United Kingdom for the UK summer Festival where he staged three shows in Luton, Coventry and Manchester.
International Artists
In 2010 , Trevor Dongo performed at the National Sports Stadium alongside International acts like Akon and Sean Paul to large crowds and up to now it is the most talked how in Zimbabwe.
He has also shared the stage with the likes of Davido , Mafikizolo , Diamond Platinumz etc.
Controvesies
Just like an celebrity , he had his own shares of controversial situations.
Trevor has been involved in public brawls but he always remain calm in such situations.
He was once bashed for a steamy music video which featured actress Tara tittled Break Away
