The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Minister Monica Mutsvanga and cabinet members have pleaded with doctors to return to work and engage the government in negotiations whilst working.
She said their strike disregards significant efforts demonstrated by government in its unwavering efforts to address their concerns.
In a post cabinet briefing, government said continued strike is a fight with the courts which ruled that their actions were illegal, ordering them to return to work forthwith.
The Cabinet members added that government efforts have included the recent upward review of their salaries and allowances which should be in their accounts before the end of this month.
The Zanu Pf led government further pleaded with the striking doctors to return to work and constructively engage with the government while at work.
She added that doctors should value the sanctity of human life above all else and offer their critical service to patients.
This however marks the 44th day since the doctors’ declaration of incapacitation.
