A houseboat carrying eight tourists recently capsized on Lake Kariba due to a heavy storm, but all passengers were safely rescued with only one minor injury reported. The incident occurred near Mica Point in November 2025. TheĀ houseboat namedĀ Zambuka, carrying eight tourists, was involved in the mishap.
The accident happened on Monday, November 17, 2025, near Mica Point, about a kilometer from Andorra Harbour in Kariba, Zimbabwe.
The boat encountered severe weather and was hit by a strong wave, which flooded the engine compartment and caused the vessel to stall and submerge at the rear. Reports indicate the boat left the harbor despite rough conditions.
