MDC President, Douglas Mwonzora has dismissed calls for a congress within 6 months which is being demanded by some members in the USA and Defence Secretary, Shakespeare Mukoyi. Mwonzora says he is the legally elected President of the MDC and is mandated to call a constitutional congress and will not agree to the proposed approach of a committee heading the MDC into a congress.
Mwonzora accused various parties including CCC, PDP and ZANU-PF of being behind the actions of Mukoyi who has barricaded himself inside the MDC Head quarters -MRT House.
