PSL EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Board of Governors is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Rodwell Thabe as the substantive Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Premier Soccer League, effective November 1, 2025.
This appointment marks a major milestone in the PSL’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its administrative structures and elevating the standards of professional football across Zimbabwe.
Rodwell’s elevation follows a comprehensive and merit-based selection process aimed at identifying a leader with the strategic vision and capacity to guide the league through its next phase of growth and commercial expansion.
Rodwell brings a wealth of institutional experience, having been with the Premier Soccer League since 2012. Rodwell holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and a BSc in Computer Science, among other professional qualifications.
Rodwell served with distinction as Acting CEO since February 2025, demonstrating exceptional leadership, professionalism, and clear strategic focus. His tenure has been characterised by stability, decisive action, tangible progress, and essential qualities for the PSL organisational reform and sustainable growth. During his tenure as Acting CEO, Thabe has been credited with several key achievements that have contributed to the league’s improved profile and operational efficiency.
The PSL Board of Governors and its Secretariat extends its full support to Rodwell Thabe as he assumes this vital leadership role. The League looks forward to a new era marked by professional excellence, financial sustainability, and competitive football under his stewardship.
