Chiwenga has increased his security ahead of a critical week where a lot is expected at the ZANU-PF Annual National People’s Conference.
Chiwenga has been avoiding public appearances amid the escalating infighting with Mnangagwa.
Chiwenga visited Machekera village in Hwedza, where he joined his mother’s relatives in celebrating his maternal uncle Sekuru Sylvester Madanha’s 83rd birthday. The celebrations are taking place at his mother’s ancestral home, bringing together relatives and community members for a day of festivities and cultural celebration.
