NICK MANGWANA – 26 SEP 2025: This Afternoon, His Excellency the President and First Secretary of the ruling party ZANU-PF Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa is attending the 3rd War Veterans National Assembly at the party Headquarters in Harare.
The National Assembly is running under the theme “ Beyond the battlefield: Celebrating Courage, Loyalty and Commitment”
The ZANU-PF War Veterans League was established in 2022 as a formal wing of the ruling party.
The dates for the first and second National Assemblies for this specific league were:
1st National Assembly: Held from May 21–23, 2024, at the ZANU-PF Headquarters in Harare.

2nd National Assembly: Took place on October 12, 2024, also at the party headquarters in Harare. While war veterans had previously been an affiliate group, these assemblies are part of the new, formal league structure.
