Chiwenga is reported to have demanded the immediate arrest of Tagwirei, Chivayo, Sakupwanya and Nguwaya — a moment that left the politburo in “quiet astonishment.”  This comes as Chiwenga revealed that ZANU-PF has a 45% ownership stake in Sakunda but has never received a cent from the investment.

The exchanges grew even sharper when state security minister Lovemore Matuke accused Chiwenga of plotting to seize power by force. Chiwenga snapped back, reminding Matuke of his liberation war record and loyalty to the party. He even dared him to ask Mnangagwa “who got him out of the country in 2017 when Mugabe had fired him?”

Mnangagwa has responded by asking Chiwenga to leave is he does not like what is happening in ZANU-PF.

The story now doing the rounds is darker. Social media posts allege that Kudakwashe “Queen Bee” Tagwirei, Mnangagwa’s financier and ally, masterminded a poisoning plot against Sanyatwe. The claims say he was injected with a toxic substance at a public event in Nyanga before being flown to India for emergency treatment.

Neither Sanyatwe nor his office has confirmed the claims. Instead, insiders insist his trip abroad was for ongoing medical care. “He has been unwell for some time. His deployment back from Tanzania and later his removal from the army were linked to his health,” one source told this publication.
