Dancehall chanter Jah Child has sensationally claimed that the late Zimdancehall legend Soul Jah Love did not die from drug abuse, as widely believed, but was in fact killed.

Speaking in an interview with DJ Sparks, Jah Child dismissed the long-held narrative that Soul Jah Love’s health deteriorated due to substance abuse. Instead, he hinted at a darker plot behind the singer’s untimely death.

“People think he died because of drugs, but that’s far from the truth,” Jah Child said. “I can’t reveal names, but what happens in life is that people steal other people’s luck, especially when someone has become famous.”

His remarks have stirred debate among fans and industry observers, reigniting speculation about the true circumstances surrounding Soul Jah Love’s passing in 2021.

The late artist, born Soul Musaka, was one of the most influential figures in Zimdancehall, celebrated for his raw lyrics and street anthems that resonated with the struggles of ordinary Zimbabweans.

While Jah Child did not provide concrete evidence to support his claims, his statements are likely to fuel further controversy around the enduring legacy of a musician who continues to command immense respect in the local music scene.
