Rwanda’s head coach Adel Amrouche has openly admitted that Knowledge Musona’s presence in the Warriors squad gave him sleepless nights ahead of their World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

The veteran forward, who has often been Zimbabwe’s talisman, was deployed in an unusual midfield role during the game, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Rwanda in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking after the match, Amrouche confessed his relief at seeing Musona play deeper rather than in attack.

“When I saw Knowledge Musona on the pitch, I couldn’t sleep because I know that man can make the difference at any time. I was happy when I saw him playing a bit deeper,” Amrouche said.

The Rwandan coach went further, praising the 34-year-old Zimbabwean as one of the most gifted footballers he has faced.

“Knowledge, for me, is the best individual player on the continent,” he added.

Despite the result, Amrouche acknowledged Zimbabwe’s overall quality, saying any team facing the Warriors must prepare for tough battles given the talent within their ranks.
