The storm surrounding Walter Mzembi’s controversial return and arrest has taken a dramatic twist, with exiled former minister Saviour Kasukuwere accusing outspoken politician Temba Mliswa of being a “liar” and a “sellout.”

Kasukuwere’s furious response came after Mliswa denied any role in luring Mzembi back into Zimbabwe, distancing himself from claims that he worked alongside CIO boss Isaac Moyo in the operation.

Adding fuel to the fire, Mliswa dismissed the accusations made by his ex-partner Susan Mutami, calling her “mentally ill” and unfit to be believed. But critics say Mliswa is simply trying to cover his tracks.

New evidence and resurfaced testimonies paint a picture of Mliswa as a double-faced operator, using politics as a tool for gossip and betrayal. The late Patson Dzamara was reportedly warned about him, while Mzembi himself is said to have been cautioned against trusting the outspoken former legislator.

Social media erupted as users weighed in, with one account, @Zvihwihwa, ridiculing Mliswa’s defense, tweeting:
“The lies in this thread are bigger than Mount Kilimanjaro…”

With revelations mounting, Mliswa’s reputation as a “political maverick” is once again under the microscope  this time, not as a fearless truth-teller, but as a man many accuse of selling out his allies for survival.
