A day that was meant to mark the beginning of a bright future for Panashe Mwinga ended in heartbreak, after the young woman died in a road accident on Thursday evening just hours after graduating from Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT).
Panashe, who had proudly received her Bachelor’s degree in Visual and Multimedia Communication, was travelling back to Harare with her family when disaster struck along the Mapinga stretch near Gwebi River.
According to reports, her father, an engineer, was behind the wheel of the family vehicle, accompanied by his wife and their 8-year-old daughter. Details of how the accident occurred remain unclear, but the crash claimed Panashe’s life on what should have been one of the happiest days of her young journey.
