The ZimCommunitySA leadership attended a meeting with VFS on challenges facing fellow Zimbabweans in using  their services.

One of the main issues discussed was the problem of the  outcomes being marked as collected even when applicants has not received them.

VFS explained that files are  sent to email addresses used during application and are only kept for 60 days so applicants are therefore urged to visit nearest agents for assistance.

Concerns were also raised about payments made through banks not reflecting and VFS proposed that online payment be used as some problems come from overpayment or incorrect reference numbers.

Another issue discussed during the meeting is that although circular 7 provided a general waiver many ZEP applicants are still being asked to submit waiver applications and this issue is being taken to the Department of Home Affairs.

The issue osf study permits for children whose parents’ ZEP applicants are still pending was also discussed and has been escalated to the higher offices.
