Former ZANU-PF political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere has broken his silence amid growing rumours of alleged behind-the-scenes succession talks involving businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei and Emmerson Mnangagwa.

In a cryptic but pointed post on X (formerly Twitter), Kasukuwere wrote “1. It’s not for sale.
2. Party meetings are convened at HQs and designated venues.
3. Farm meetings are not party sanctioned.”

The statement comes as speculation swirls about Tagwirei being positioned as a potential successor to Mnangagwa, a move that has sparked backlash within political circles and among sections of the public. Many have expressed discomfort with what they see as the increasing influence of business figures in national politics.

Kasukuwere’s remarks suggest disapproval of informal political discussions taking place outside official party structures  particularly at private venues such as farms and underscore concern about the commodification of power in the ruling party.
