Zimfest UK organisers have publicly denied widespread social media rumours claiming the festival was fined £3,000 by British authorities due to sanitation issues, including piles of human waste and littering at the event venue.
The organisers of Zimfest UK have firmly denied explosive social media claims suggesting they were fined £3,000 by British authorities following alleged sanitation violations at this year’s event.
The controversy was sparked by a viral screenshot that alleged more than 15 piles of human faeces, used condoms, and overflowing bins were discovered at the venue claims that quickly spread across Zimbabwean online spaces, prompting public outrage.

In an official statement posted on their Facebook page, Zimfest Live wrote“Just to clarify; no fine was issued to the organisers and we’re proud of how well everyone represented the community.”
The organisers praised attendees for making the 2025 edition “unforgettable,” describing the atmosphere as filled with “happy, respectful, and vibrant faces” celebrating Zimbabwean culture. They also assured fans they are listening to feedback and working to improve for future editions.

The rebuttal comes after a viral screenshot circulated online, alleging that 15 heaps of human faeces, used condoms, and overflowing bins were left behind after the festival prompting what was claimed to be a £3,000 fine. Zimfest firmly refuted these accusations, emphasizing that such claims were “completely false.”
With planning already underway for Zimfest 2026, organisers are calling on supporters to “keep the good vibes going” and remain focused on the positive cultural impact of the event.
