Kenni Gamble, also known as Kenni Gambo, had a notable career connected to Zimbabwe broadcasting primarily as a celebrated DJ and music personality. He worked at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC).

Kenni has announced the launch of his new Property Sales Company in a Press Release that was sent to major media houses today.

His career highlights related to Zimbabwe include:

  • Emerging as one of Zimbabwe’s finest club DJs and rapper after independence in 1980.

  • His peak popularity was for weekend DJ sessions at Bretts Night Club in Harare from 1983 to 1988, which became a major entertainment event attracting wide audiences.

  • He was known by the name “Kenni Gamble” due to a misprint, and his shows were famous for high-energy music mixes and freestyle rapping, predating famous American rappers.

  • Kenni wanted to return to Zimbabwe broadcasting on airwaves and was once considered for a slot on Radio 3 (now Power FM) by veteran broadcaster Ishmael Kadungure, but the opportunity was blocked due to his South African citizenship.

  • Kenni expressed a strong connection to Zimbabwe as his fatherland and a desire to please Zimbabwean music fans again via radio if given a chance.

  • His sessions at Bretts served as a training ground for many young DJs who later became national radio stars.

  • He later operated a business called Medialand and is based in South Africa.
