Zimbabwean rapper M.G Hkh known for his honest lyrics and soulful trap beats, recently opened up about a painful chapter in his life the end of his relationship with Alice Munyika. In a candid reflection, M.G shared how the breakup not only broke his heart but also pushed him to refocus on his purpose, music, and self-worth.
“My girlfriend just disappeared for two weeks,”M.G explained. “She went offline, and when she came back, she had an iPhone XR. I was still at school, broke, and confused.”
According to the artist, everything changed from that moment. Conversations became cold, and Alice started “blue-ticking” his messages ignoring his texts and showing no interest in talking. What hurt the most wasn’t just the silence, but the way she returned, acting distant and eventually lashing out.
“She told me straight, ‘Stop talking to me,’” he recalled. “That’s when I knew it was over.”
As it turns out, Alice had moved on reportedly choosing someone with more money and status. For M.G, the realization was painful. He had given the relationship his heart, believing their bond was stronger than material things. But in the end, her decision showed otherwise.
Instead of retaliating or falling apart, M.G turned the heartbreak into motivation.
“I said to myself: she’s gone, but I’m still here. I’ll focus on my life. I’ll leave her alone and turn this pain into power.”
And that’s exactly what he did.
Since the breakup, M.G Hkh has used the experience to deepen his music, pouring his emotions into lyrics that speak to betrayal, healing, and finding strength in the darkest moments. Fans have noticed a new edge in his delivery more personal, more vulnerable, and more real.
The heartbreak didn’t destroy him; it refined him. While Alice moved on, M.G rose up. And today, many of his listeners relate to his journey, making his story one of survival, self-respect, and emotional growth.
“It’s not about revenge,”he says. “It’s about becoming better for yourself. That’s what I want people to feel in my music that even if someone breaks you, you can still come back stronger.
