The Malawian General Election is scheduled for September 16, 2025. The campaign officially kicked off on July 14, 2025, and there are reportedly seventeen presidential candidates vying for the country’s highest office.

For the 2019 Malawi General Election, Al Ghurair won the contract, but a Johannesburg-based printer, Ren-Form CC, was a prominent rival bidder. Ren-Form CC tendered a significantly lower price.

  • Kenya’s next general election is scheduled for August 11, 2026.

  • Tanzania’s 2025 general election is on October 28, 2025.

  • Malawi’s general election is on September 16, 2025.

  • Uganda’s election date has not been officially confirmed but is expected late 2025 or early 2026; here estimated as November 15, 2025 for calculation.

Wicknell Chivayo visited Zambian President Edgar Lungu in June 2019. Multiple reports and social media posts from that time confirm that Chivayo met Lungu at State House in Lusaka and proudly shared pictures of their meeting, highlighting completed renewable energy projects in Zambia.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) confirmed that the printing of ballot papers for the August 12, 2021, elections took place at the Al Ghurair printing plant in Dubai, UAE.

Between January and July 2025, Wicknell Chivayo significantly expanded his engagements with key East African leaders, establishing a series of high-profile meetings with the presidents of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Malawi. Notably, Chivayo met Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan multiple times—at least four documented encounters—where they discussed renewable energy and regional cooperation. His relationship with Kenyan President William Ruto was similarly active, with courtesy visits and public appearances highlighting shared commitments to Africa’s energy transition and leadership. These meetings included a notable joint event at Nairobi State House in April 2025 that also involved President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

Chivayo’s presence extended beyond East Africa with confirmed visits to Uganda and Malawi in July 2025, meeting President Yoweri Museveni and President Lazarus Chakwera respectively. These visits underscore his regional influence and interest in infrastructure and development projects. While there are no publicly verified meetings with former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta or Tanzania’s late President John Magufuli, Chivayo’s consistent interactions with current leaders position him as a significant business and political figure actively engaging with top African statesmen during this period.
