
Mazowe, Zimbabwe — Chatunga Bellarmine Mugabe, the youngest son of the late President Robert Mugabe, has responded defiantly to allegations linking him to a violent assault at a Mazowe mining site, declaring in a Facebook post.
“Handivhundutsirwe ini, Not even scared of anything… I have my rights 💯. Ana gudo nana mbambaira musandityise.”

The bold statement, posted on Sunday, comes in the wake of a storm of media coverage and public scrutiny after reports emerged that Chatunga allegedly led an armed group, wielding AK-47 rifles, onto Ultimate Mining grounds a site adjacent to his mother Grace Mugabe’s Mazowe estate.
The incident, which occurred last Wednesday, reportedly began when illegal gold panners fled from Grace Mugabe’s property into the neighboring mine. Chatunga and his entourage accused Ultimate Mine staff of harboring the trespassers and failing to act.
What followed, according to multiple witnesses and medical reports, was a violent altercation several mine workers were beaten, a firearm was reportedly discharged, and a security guard named Elvis Bvumbwe sustained life-threatening injuries including fractures and blunt force trauma. At least three others were hospitalized.
The matter was reported to the police and no arrest was made.
