The ongoing legal dispute involving Zim-dancehall star Silent Killer, born Jimmy Mudereri, has evolved beyond tabloid drama it now stands as a stark reflection of deeper issues within Zimbabwe’s music industry.

Silent Killer is being sued for US$122,170 by UK-based event promoters, Y2K Entertainment, over allegations of breach of contract and unprofessional behavior.

The promoters allege that the artist failed to travel for a headline performance at the SAMA Festival in Leicester, scheduled for April 2025.

The reasons for the no-show vary widely, ranging from unsettling dreams and unmet financial expectations to communication breakdowns and managerial disarray.
