A Toyota Land Cruiser, allegedly stolen in Zimbabwe, has been recovered by police in Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe. The vehicle was found in Area 47 after the buyer, suspecting foul play, alerted authorities.
Two suspects have since been arrested: Tendai Mtunguwazi, a 40-year-old Zimbabwean national, and Kabelo Khotlele, a 28-year-old South African. The Malawian police acted swiftly following the tip-off and apprehended the duo in connection with the vehicle.
Investigations are ongoing to verify the vehicle’s true origin, as authorities seek to determine whether it was stolen from Zimbabwe or South Africa.
