Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah arrived in Zimbabwe on Monday night for an official working visit and high-level talks with SADC Chairperson, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, held at State House in Harare this morning.

Her visit to Zimbabwe is part of her first official international tour since taking office in March, which has included engagements in Angola, Botswana, Zambia, and Mozambique.

President Mnangagwa, who has been spearheading a regional engagement and re-engagement agenda, underscored the importance of unity within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

“We need to continue supporting each other as a region. That is how we grow — by sharing our perspectives and moving forward together. Unity is key among our members,” said the SADC Chairperson.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah, ahead of her inauguration, also spoke warmly about the enduring bond between the two nations:
“Zimbabwe and Namibia are one. Agriculture will be one of our key economic pillars,” she said.

Her visit to Zimbabwe marks another milestone in regional diplomacy, as both nations continue to collaborate on development, trade, and shared continental priorities.
