Tensions are rising in Bindura over the future of Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU), established by the Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (ZAOGA), which now faces possible eviction and demolition.
This follows a default judgment by the High Court granting ownership of the university’s land to gold miner Mr. Charles Chakumba.
The legal battle dates back to 2015, when Chakumba filed a lawsuit claiming that ZEGU was unlawfully constructed on two mining claims 22441 and 22442 allocated to him in 1994 by the Ministry of Mines.
However people have stated that this is a way to sabotage Apostle Eunor Guti after she rejected Wicknel Chivhayo’ gift.
