
During the 80th anniversary of Russia’s victory over Nazi Germany, Youth Empowerment, Development, and Vocational Training Minister Tino Machakaire emphasized the importance of Zimbabwean youths prioritizing national interests over personal issues to foster a better country.
Speaking through his deputy, Kudakwashe Mupamhanga, he highlighted the sacrifices made by Russian youths in defending their nation during World War II as an inspiring example of patriotic resilience.
Russia’s ambassador to Zimbabwe, Nikolai Krasilnikov, underscored the global significance of the victory, noting its role in ending World War II and establishing the United Nations, which supported Africa’s liberation movements.
Junior MP Tanaka Musiiwa reflected on the lessons of sacrifice and determination, urging Zimbabwean youths to work towards peace and progress.
The event was attended by government officials, diplomats, and youth representatives, reinforcing the message of patriotism and unity.
