In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Blessed Mhlanga, a prominent figure and recent inmate, expressed his gratitude for the protection and care he received during his time at Harare Remand Prison.

Mhlanga described the prison conditions as “hell,” highlighting the harsh realities faced by inmates in the facility.

Despite these difficulties, he credited two fellow political prisoners, Mike Chimombe and Mose Mpofu, for ensuring his safety and well-being.

Both Chimombe and Mpofu have been detained for nearly 10 months, fighting for bail in what many see as an unjust detention. Their ongoing struggle for their legal rights has drawn widespread attention and support from human rights advocates.

Mhlanga emphasized that Chimombe and Mpofu are “political prisoners,” who have been denied bail despite the lengthy detention period.

He expressed his admiration for their resilience and dedication, stating that they are “in my prayers” and praising their courage in the face of adversity.

This revelation sheds light on the difficult conditions and political tensions surrounding the detention of these individuals.

Mhlanga’s account underscores the importance of solidarity among prisoners and highlights ongoing issues within the country’s justice and prison systems.
