In a startling revelation that has sent ripples through the region, a personal guard of Burkina Faso’s interim leader, Ibrahim Traoré, has publicly claimed he was offered a staggering $5 million to assassinate the president.

The guard, who has not been publicly named for security reasons, detailed the alleged plot, highlighting a callous disregard for human life in pursuit of political instability.

According to the guard’s account, the offer was presented as an “offer I couldn’t refuse,” specifically targeting Traoré during a moment of vulnerability. “They offered me $5 million to shoot Ibrahim Traoré from behind specifically when he bends to pray to Allah,” the guard stated.

“But I asked myself. Is $5 million worth carrying a guilty conscience to my grave?” he recounted.
