Bishop TD Jakes, the renowned founder and senior pastor of The Potter’s House in Dallas, has announced his decision to step down from his pastoral role after more than two decades of leadership.
This transition comes just a few months after Jakes experienced a debilitating heart attack, which has prompted him to reassess his responsibilities and focus on his health and family.
During a heartfelt sermon on Sunday, Jakes shared the news with his congregation, emphasizing the importance of succession and the future of the church he established in 1996.
In a move that illustrates his commitment to legacy and continuity, he revealed that his daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts, and son-in-law, Touré Roberts, will take over the leadership of The Potter’s House.
