Shadaya Tawona, a prominent commentator, recently took to his X page to express a critical viewpoint on the actions of African politicians.
He highlighted the alarming decision-making process of allocating budgetary resources to send delegations to Italy for the Pope’s funeral, raising questions about the attention given to pressing issues faced by the continent.
“For a continent that has far much bigger problems, that shouldn’t be a priority.” he wrote.
His words invite reflection on the allocation of resources in a region grappling with issues such as poverty, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
