Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has expressed his condolences following the death of Pope Francis, who passed away at the age of 88 in Vatican City.
The pope had been hospitalized for bronchitis, which deteriorated into bilateral pneumonia.
After extensive treatment and a month of intensive care, he quietly died at his residence.
Mnangagwa honored the late pontiff’s legacy, describing him as a symbol of humility, compassion, and justice.
