Gospel artist Mambo Dhuterere’s marriage appears to be facing serious difficulties, with his wife, Dorcas Vambe popularly known as Mai Dhuterere alleging that he has deserted her during her pregnancy while she cares for their four children.
Mai Dhuterere has expressed financial hardships and signs of depression due to the lack of support from her husband.
The couple’s tension reportedly intensified following Mambo Dhuterere’s failure to secure a vehicle from Wicknel Chivhayo, which he attributed to his wife’s supposed bad luck.
Mai Dhuterere counters this, asserting that their issues began when Mambo Dhuterere exhibited concerning behavior after he learned of her pregnancy.
In a conversation with Hmetro, Mambo Dhuterere chose not to provide comment, while Mai Dhuterere conveyed her emotional turmoil, stating, “I have been keeping this to myself because of my condition. I don’t want to be depressed and risk losing our unborn child.”
The situation reportedly deteriorated further after Mai Dhuterere’s arrest and subsequent courtroom appearance regarding a US$16,000 fraud case, which some speculate led to Mambo Dhuterere leaving their family home.
The couple initially came together when Mai Dhuterere had a child from a prior relationship, and they later decided to adopt another child. Even though they have built a life together, including the acquisition of an undeveloped residential plot in Harare, their relationship seems to be unraveling.
