In a press statement, the CCC’s communication department acknowledged an error in their submission of documents to the court.
While expressing their commitment to rectify the situation, they assured supporters that the battle is far from over.
“We will continue to challenge Sengezo’s claims and demonstrate who rightfully appointed him as the SG of CCC,” the statement read.
This comes after the CCC was unable to provide sufficient evidence to demonstrate its authority to oppose Tshabangu’s application, leading to the striking out of the opposing affidavit during court proceedings.
The court upheld Tshabangu’s argument that the terms of office for the party officials involved had expired, rendering their continued tenure unlawful and ensuring his reinstatement.
The press statement however has assured supporters that CCC remains steadfast in its stance against Tshabangu’s position.
The party plans to hold him accountable in the upcoming proceedings, stating, “Tshabangu will still have to face his day in court and take the witness stand to clarify how and when he became the SG of CCC.”
The statement reaffirmed that a prior ruling preventing Tshabangu from recalling any MPs or councilors remains unchanged, urging party members to stay resolute in their responsibilities to the public.
