In a bold move aimed at combating rampant corruption in Zimbabwe, the National Democratic Working Group (NDWG) has called for the citizens’ arrest of businessman Wicknell Chivhayo.

The organization accuses Chivhayo of allegedly siphoning millions of US dollars from the country through corrupt practices, effectively positioning him as a menace to national stability and prosperity.

The NDWG’s social media announcement highlighted Chivhayo’s troubling ties to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration, implying that these relationships have enabled a free rein for Chivhayo and his associates to exploit the national treasury without accountability.

The statement resonated with the frustrations of many citizens grappling with an escalating economic crisis characterized by soaring inflation, unemployment, and dwindling public services.

“The time has come for the people to take a stand against the rampant looting of our national resources,” the NDWG urged, emphasizing the urgent need for collective action to safeguard the country’s future.

Their call to action reflects a growing sentiment among the populace that has long been marginalized by political elites and corrupt practices.

The NDWG used the hashtag #StopZviganandas to rally support, drawing attention to the dire consequences of corruption on everyday Zimbabweans.
