In a growing political storm, Norton Member of Parliament Richard Tsvangirai finds himself at the center of controversy after denying claims that he received government land in exchange for supporting President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s bid to avoid impeachment and extend his term to 2030.
His denial has been met with vehement backlash, particularly from fellow MP Bridget Nyandoro, who has come forward with allegations that challenge his integrity and honesty.
A leaked audio recording purportedly captures Tsvangirai discussing the land issue with Nyandoro just a day prior to her public accusations.
In her statements, Nyandoro did not hold back, asserting that Tsvangirai’s claims are nothing but fabrications aimed at misleading the public.
“Richard needs to come clean. I have proof of our conversation, and it contradicts his denial,” she declared, adding further pressure on the MP to address the allegations.
In a recent Facebook post, Nyandoro leveled explosive accusations against the opposition, labeling it a “cesspool of corruption.”
She specifically pointed out that certain MPs received bribes totaling US$40,000 during the last Parliament, claiming these funds were shared with their former leader, Nelson Chamisa.
Nyandoro went on to allege that the controversial Bereka Mwana method was used in selecting candidates for the 2023 elections, suggesting that members paid to secure their positions in the ranks.
