In a surprising twist, supporters of renowned journalist Hopewell Chin’ono and media mogul Trevor Ncube have rushed to their defense following accusations that the pair had remained inactive in the case concerning Blessed Mhlanga.

Critics had pointed fingers at them, suggesting that they had failed but have continuously urged prominent former opposition leader Nelson Chamisa to take a stand for Job Sikhala when he was in prison.

However, a vocal supporter took to Twitter to clarify the duo’s contributions, stating, “But you are not being honest; @daddyhope has been more than vocal. He has even gone an extra step to start a go fund which has raised more than $4k while most of you just talk.”

The tweet also revealed that Blessed Mhlanga’s wife had confirmed the delivery of groceries facilitated through Chin’ono, emphasizing the tangible support provided by the journalist.

The supporter further pointed out Ncube’s bravery, recounting how he “flew all the way and even presented himself as the owner and the person to be arrested over the interview.” This act, deemed courageous by many, has sparked discussions about the responsibilities of public figures in times of crisis.
