Advocate Thabani Mpofu has brought to light a harrowing incident involving the physical assault of a pastor as a result of his outspoken views on the controversial financier Kuda Tagwirei.
According to Mpofu, the pastor, whose identity remains undisclosed for safety reasons, faced a brutal interrogation by Tagwirei, and two other pastors – one considered a puppet of the financier and the other labeled as a “garrulous, bottom-feeding lapdog.”
The pastor was brutally beaten for voicing concerns about Tagwirei’s lavish lifestyle and what he termed an “insatiable greed” that threatens to tarnish the church’s reputation and moral standing.
Sources close to the situation revealed that the physical abuse involved a horrific review of the pastor’s sermons, where he was subjected to violence for every dissenting view he expressed.
“This egregious act is a betrayal of the very tenets of faith upon which the church stands,” said Mpofu through his tweet.
“It highlights a chilling reality of how power and money can corrupt, leading to the degradation of moral principles within religious institutions. The community must stand together against such acts of violence.”he added.
