The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has issued a warning to drivers who operate vehicles without registration plates, emphasizing that all vehicles must have a valid number plate, regardless of ownership.

The statement, aims to address the growing concern of vehicles being bought and sold without updating the ownership details.

According to the ZRP, this trend has led to cases where a single vehicle is registered to multiple owners, making it difficult to track down the current owner in the event of a crime.

To prevent such cases, the ZRP has urged buyers to update the ownership of newly purchased vehicles.

” The Zimbabwe Republic Police has also noted with concern the proliferation of vehicles being sold and change of ownership not effected within two weeks as required under the vehicle registration process in the country,”

Vehicle owners are urged to ensure that their vehicles are properly registered and that the ownership details are up to date to avoid any issues with the authorities.
