In a surprise move, the Tuckshop Association has come out against the planned March 31 protest, citing concerns that the demonstration will disrupt their business operations.
Lovemore Mudzoki, the association’s national secretary, made the announcement in a video published by ZIFM.
According to Mudzoki, the association has decided not to support the protest, which is expected to draw large crowds and potentially cause chaos in the city.
Mudzoki also revealed that he had recently had the opportunity to speak with the President, who was apparently unaware of the eviction issues affecting vendors.
“The President is not aware of what happens behind the scenes,” Mudzoki said.
