A Lusaka clergyman, Pastor Peter Mulenga, has been taken into police custody after admitting to raping a church member, a virgin girl. During a heated interrogation, Pastor Mulenga attributed his actions to the girl’s physical attractiveness and her seating position in church, which he claimed drew him to her.
According to the pastor, the girl’s beauty and allure proved too great for him to resist, and he decided to engage in a physical relationship with her.
He even considered marrying her, despite being already married, and had plans to sponsor her education at a nursing college.
Pastor Mulenga implied that the devil was using the girl to destroy his church, but acknowledged that he was responsible for his actions.
He expressed remorse for his behavior and apologized to the victim and her parents.
Although Pastor Mulenga did not deny the rape allegations, his justification for the assault has sparked outrage. He is expected to appear in court soon to face charges of rap
