
Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume takes action to stop nurses from striking over welfare issues that came into light after commission inquiry was made in council operations.
Mafume was questioned by Tapiwa Godzi during the inquiry about his involvement in several bargaining meetings.
He stated that inorder to ensure that the nurses do not strike as this could lead to serious health issues.
Mafume said nurses medical aid is being denied and they’re not being paid which is leading to their frustration.
After finding out about this Mafume said he has held meetings which have revealed that US$1 million for the health scheme has been stolen.
Service delivery is vital at this particular moment for Harare hence the Mayor’s intervation.
