Controversy Surrounds Gayton Mckenzie’s Remarks on Zimbabwean Aid and Political Figures

South African politician Gayton Mckenzie sparked significant controversy after suggesting that Zimbabweans were celebrating the decision by former President Donald Trump to cut foreign aid to South Africa.

Mckenzie made these comments which drew immediate backlash as a user shared a photo of him alongside  prominent Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo and Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

In his post, Mckenzie stated, “Whenever South Africa is faced with a tragedy or bad news, the people celebrating are always those illegal foreigners, particularly Zimbabweans. Your time in SA is running out.”

The user responded to this and said, “You are a criminal who use xenophobia for relevance besides that you have nothing to offer, you were in Zimbabwe with Wicknell and Mnangagwa stop this nonsense.”
